Work Projects

Civil War on the Western Border
Collaborative web project offering original scholarship and thousands of digitized historical documents relating to Kansas-Missouri border warfare in the period 1855-1861. Built in Drupal 7, the site was designed by Kansas City Public Library staff and developed by Innovative Interfaces.

Software Lending Library
A concept to take advantage of high bandwidth networks such as Google Fiber, the Software Lending Library offers a scheduling mechanism and connection to software via remote desktop. A pilot was complete in 2014, with phase 2 yet to deploy.

The Pendergast Years: Kansas City in the Jazz Age & Great Depression
The Kansas City Public Library team will be delivering another thematic website related to the 1920s ands 30s in Kansas City. It will feature articles from leading scholars in the field and digitized documents from many regional archival institutions.

Kansas City Area Shared Catalog (forthcoming)
Developed by Toronto-based library technology company, Bibliocommons, the Shared Catalog will offer the ability to search, navigate and interact with holding of four Kansas City area libraries in a single interface.
